A shout out to our Australian members as I know we have a handful.

I usually buy orchids as bag-baby size - partly because I like the low price but also because I feel some achievement dividend in raising them to flowering size. I recently decided to beef up my Oncidium/hybrid collection with some new blood. I found a range of Oncidium and brassica hybrids on the Red Fox orchids website and decided to order some. I chose the ‘small plant’ size which were mostly $14 and expected to receive plants say 150mm high in 50mm pots.

The plants in the photo are average size of what was received. In Australia, everything is more expensive then in the US so this is extraordinary value for $14.

I ordered a Sanderara black star which turned out to be smaller then the others (although still good size) and with a lot of black spots on the leaves. However they had given me a bonus one, and with 3 spikes between the two I was still pretty happy (as confident it is not a disease issue).

Red Fox is based in Brisbane area which is good for me as I don’t like to buy orchids from any further north then that as the climate is too different.

Also, standard disclaimer, I have no connection with this company, just a one-time customer.

Cheers
Arron

Those plants look fantastic, and I think they would be considered very good value for your money in many places! Here in Europe I would be very, very pleased and surprised to get such nice plants for that price. (Especially as $14 AUS works out to only 8 euros!)

And bonus plants are always nice, I have never had the privilege of receiving one...

Oh geez Arron. I had assumed that Red Fox Orchids was somewhere down in NSW or even further south than that.

I purchased orchids online from them quite a number of times in the past, and never realised that they were in QLD hahaha. I didn't (ever) read their location on the boxed packages from Red Fox !! I was super surprised when you mentioned 'Brisbane' area.
