I know we have a lot of new members who are building their collections. Ordering from Olympic is a good way to do that. The plants are not ordinary varieties, but not to exotic either.

They are generally small, which I like because I like to watch them grow. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the owner, Ellen, is wonderfully attentive to her buyers.

Here is my latest order, which was well wrapped with a heat pack.

On the left is Zygonesia Cynosure 'Dove of Peace.' Next is compact Dendrobium 'Pink Surprise.' Far right Cymbidium Dolly 'Featherhill' x Catch the Wind 'New Year.' Mounted in back, soon to be unmounted is a cross Ontolezia Helen Armour '#1' quoting off the tags.

Thanks so much for this suggestion and it is right up my ally for how I like to shop for orchids. I tend to buy in bulk but look for small and less expensive plants. My theory is, if I have a budget of $100, I would rather get 10 small orchids at $10 each instead 4 larger, more established orchids at $25 each. I also find it more pleasurable to grow them from babies into mature, blooming plants, as long as you don't mind waiting several years.

Her orchids are in the 6-7$ range with some dendrobium specials at $3. The weather is risky to ship but, they do an excellent job. Enjoy.

I already browsed their website but am going to wait until after several orchid shows come through my area in February and March. Depending on how much damage I do at those shows this vendor will be my next stop.
