Orchis Italica Bulbs

Very rare and hard to find orchid! Located here in the United States. These are almost dormant and can be planted in the fall. Flowers in early spring. Will ship these out in about month.

The leaves are oblong with a length of 5 cm, they grow from the underground tubers that have a maximum size of 6 cm and are ellipsoid.

The inflorescence that is erect in spike, leaves the basal rosette of 5 to 10 oblong lanceolate leaves that are sometimes speckled with purple-brown spots. The stem is covered by a green bract up to 2/3 of its length.

It presents a dense flowering with small flowers in a conical shape. The three sepals are equal in size while being welded on the sides leaving the apices loose, these loose ends of the two sides are curved upwards and the central one arches downwards. They form a kind of cap that covers the column. The sepals have a purple color with convergent lines of more intense tone.

The lip protruding below the helmet 3/4 parts is whitish pink and is profusely mottled with more intense pink dots. The labellum has three lobes, the widest central has two deep indentations (in the center protrudes a fringe much finer than the fringes that are on both sides) and two smaller and thin lobes on each side that are slightly arched out and up. It also has two very small petals inside that are not visible to the naked eye.

Flowers from March to June. The color can vary from whitish to different shades of pink and purple.

Will combine shipping on multiple orders.
