Let me start by saying that I KNOW ALMOST NOTHING!

...but from the shape of the petals, this looks like it may have Vanda JVB (Josephine van Brero) in there.

I'm curious to see what the masters come up with as a possible answer It's really very pretty

This is a nice one! I believe that at least one parent will be Papilionanthe teres (Nomen. Syn. Vanda teres), but that is just one... the parentage could be that of Vanda Josephine van Brero instead (as Sue suggested), which has Pap. teres in the parentage of that hybrid. Looks great, whatever it is!

Default Vanda Tan Chay Yan

Hi Ewbie,

Please let me start by saying that I believe that is impossible to ID a NoID hybrid. However, in your case, I'd stick my neck out and say it is probably Vanda Tan Chay Yan.

This hybrid was one of the most desirable in the 50's and is extensively grown in the Far East. As for proof, you can buy that in 999 Fine Silver from the Singapore Mint
http://www.singaporemint.com/product...roducts_id=766

or as a postage stamp
http://www.orkideas.com.br/colecoes/...ternac_01.html
right at the bottom of the page.

But for the serious, just Google for Vanda Tan Chay Yan.

Weng
