When pack rats nibble my orchids, even a little bit, they often rot away from that point, no matter what I do. Others in our society have also noticed this.

Our native rats. They eat everything, including wires under the hood of your car. They build huge mound nests out of cactus, leaves, twigs, plant labels and trash. They love orchids, especially cymbidiums and relatives.

Ah...OK! I am in SWFL. We have tree rats. They generally don't bother plants unless there is a food crisis...LOL But, there are plenty of palm nuts around.

Actually, my mama vanda was chewed by a squirrel. Her crown was nibbled off, andI saw the culprit! That was a few years ago. My latest saga all started mere weeks ago, and the plant in in a screen enclosure - no wild-life access.
