This Vanda is definitely viable. It needs more water coming in than going out, which means daily long soaks. It has enough plant mass to grow new roots quickly. I have observed new root formation on Vandas overnight after a soak in KelpMax 2 oz / 56ml per gallon / 3.78 liters of water.

Thanks for the input guys. Well, the plant wasn't dehydrated when I got it. It was just young. Did buy it at similar price to the other two more mature plants though so was a little disappointed at that. Just thought it was more expensive.

I do make an effort to try to save dying orchids, not only because I feel bad tossing them before they're really gone but also because it's valuable experience. I already have the Superthrive and Rootone so that's why I'm using them. Actually came across a youtube video where the guy rehabs his rootless orchids by soaking weekly in water with KLN rooting hormone, few drops of lemon juice, and something to increase the tannins. He then lets it dry and puts in a Ziplock bag with some moist sphagnum moss (not touching the orchid). Sounds like the sphag and bag method. Supposedly works very well for him. My orchid is dehydrated but not totally dead yet so I'm doing something similar with my Superthrive and Rootone but in a paint bucket. I am getting some KelpMax and will use that when it gets here.

Thanks for the heads-up.

KelpMax is delivered to me in 10L jugs, and I repackage it into 1- and 4L sizes. If I repack 50 1L bottles, I set the online inventory to that level, so when that's sold out, it just means I need to repack some more.

Next time, drop me an email, and I'll update it before repackaging, so you can place your order.

Great. I see that it's on its way so I'll be crossing my fingers that it will help. Yeah, I googled KelpMax and your sites seem to be the only or at least the first ones that come up. That's good for you.
