Default V. [Ascda.] Pedro Bonetti

I have seen pictures of orange flower blooms but my orchid flower is of maroon tinge and a bit darker red. This has newly opened its blooms, but maybe in a week or so it will get to the correct color.
This orchid plant is fond of heat and humidity, conditions that are difficult to obtain in an apartment in Manhattan in the winter. My orchid plants are provided with an electric humidifier with a small fan and a portable heater. Now, this is placed outside on the fire escape happy with the high humidity and warm New York sun. It flowers twice a year. This is thriving in a 4-inch basket and watered until soaked under the sink and fed weakly weekly fertilizer with seaweed liquid in its growing period. All my Vandacious plants are placed in the south facing window in winter and during the warmer months it is in the fire escape facing east.
I guess I am lucky to have an apartment that can let my orchid plants survive its winters and summers….

Your flowers are beautiful, I like this color better than the on line photo. Flowering twice a year is awesome! Thanks for sharing. Great pictures as well!

Since Pedro Bonetti is a grex name, variations are to be expected. I agree with the above posters. yours is beautiful!

Thank you for the visit and your kindness. I know that I will have a different variation of flower since this orchid is a hybrid. But I have the correct golden center and the lip is definitely a classic example.
