Default Rhy. coelestis

This plant has gone thru two years of abuse. I tried to grow it in S/H and had almost all the roots rotted. Then I tried it in bark and it got worse. I finally tried pebbles with chunks of sphagnum like all my other vandaceous orchids and got some success.

It actually flowered back in late summer around end of August. After repotting, it recovered quite fast. Gave me these blooms. Flowers have a very nice ginger/spicy scent, and the flowers were long lasting.

I grow it intermediate and quite shady, only slightly brighter than a Phalaenopsis.

Enjoy
Andrew

Haha, sounds like my experience with mine (sunburn, crown rot) but the reward is worth it.

Good growing!

Great! Do you have time to water every day, and grow it bare-root?
