Sarcochilus hartmannii in bloom
Moderate sized species from Australia
I've had this about 3 years - it's been an easy grower and bloomer for me. Temperature tolerant. Grows year-round on my sheltered, east facing porch. Potted in chc mix in a plastic pot. Media is kept lightly moist while growing (fall - spring), but can be allowed to just become dry in-between waterings in summer. Light, sweet fragrance.
Only one spike this year (three last year). I suspect our unusually warm weather in early autumn (deciduous trees were still green at the beginning of November!) may have had something to do with that - it also started the spike about a month later than it has in the past.
Thanks for looking

Such beautiful blooms! The bud looks like a tiny snow ball.

Patty - hehe - yes, that bud does look like a snowball! I didn't notice before you mentioned it

Thanks
Yes, it has a sweet floral fragrance that I don't know what to liken it to - not powerful, but not faint either. It's quite nice.
