Vanda spike question

Hi all, After looking at the spike on my vanda I noticed that it was coming from the same side as a previous spike, just higher up the plant. Do they always appear on the same side as the last spike or can it come from the other side too? And can there be more then one spike at a time? Thanks

Normally they will flower from alternate sides or multi spike, one either side. Its unusual for one flower like yours but not uncommon.
