An eBay buy from Lucky Girl Orchids.
First time bloom for me. Almost daily dunking into my fish pond.
A vigorous grower, likes intermediate temps.
I potted in Stone pebbles and chunks of sphagnum.

So very beautiful and I'd like to hear more of the ones hanging in the background!

That's funny. I was looking at these on eBay today. I love the blue/purple

Most of the time, I see Vandas hanging bare root. Is there a reason to pot it with a some kind of medium? Just curious. I have two, in s. Florida, and I have them bare.

Much dryer in Southern California. When I had them bare root in the past they tend to get very desiccated. That is why I am growing it a clay pot with pebbles and chunks of sphagnum to provide more moisture and humidity as well as keeping the mix open. My Vandas tend to like this treatment. Vandas are not easy to grow here in California, too dry and not hot and humid enough.

Oh, I see. It's incredibly hot and humid where I am. Thank you for helping me!

Daily dunking into the fish pond. Do you even need to fertilize? It is gorgeous!!!!!
