Holcoglossums Male
Default Holcoglossums

I have two in bloom at the moment.

Holcoglossum kimballianum has larger flowers and a spectacular dark lip, but it only has 2 or 3 flowers open at a time.

Holcoglossum wangii has a less colorful flower, but all the flowers open within a few days, so it puts on an impressive display.

How do you grow these? I have 1. Some of the leaves are spotted or variegated. I've only had it for 1 year. I read that it does best mounted. Mine is still potted. Thank you.

I grow all Holcoglossums mounted, with a little spaghnum tied around the roots. In the greenhouse we water once a week in winter, and twice a week the rest of the year.
