??? rubescens
I got this as an unbloomed seedling in January 2014. It was originally classified as an Aerides, then it became an Ascocentrum, and now it is supposedly a Vanda!
It bloomed first time three months ago, but the photos I took then were not in focus. Fortunately it has thrown two more spikes, and I got it this time.
The seed pod on the first spike is from a pollination with Asctm christensonianum.
Having had two looks at this species, I would not have objected if the *%#(&! taxonomists had left it in Aerides. I guess I can see why some felt that it should be an Ascocentrum. However, IT AINT a Vanda in my book.

This is an ascocentrum species. You have the name correct, and it is now a vanda. As they have decided that its growth habit and culture matches that which classify vanda. Feel free to consider it ascocentrum to differentiate this miniature species.

We need to employ taxonomists, too, you know. Plant looks great (that root, though)! Please excuse me while I get distracted by the background.
