Vanda Bangkok Blue Male
Default Vanda Bangkok Blue

Hello everyone!

I would just like to share with ya'll the blooms that my Vanda Bangkok Blue has made for me this morning! Absolutely stunning!
I bought this beauty in December with a little tiny spike. I sure hope I'm able to make it bloom again soon!

I hoped the color to be a bit 'bluer' but I have no complaints!
I suppose I'll just squander some cash and treat myself to a 'Sakate' V. Pachara Delight once I get my tax returns back!

Also, I updated the orchids.wiki page for this vanda since there was nothing on the page.

Lovely flowers. Just wait until they flatten then fully open its petals, it will get bigger in diameter and produce better vivid colors. You happen to be lucky to be in a zone with high humidity in the atmosphere so if there is any fragrance it will also manifest by early morning when it is most humid.
Some of my oldest Vandas came from Kissimmee, FL from one of my most trusted seller and friend.

Oh, you may be right! Even more incentive for me to get up in the morning! I hope they have some fragrance, though I doubt it :/

Here's an updated photo.
The blooms definitely showed more color a few more days in!
Although note that the photo dramatizes the blue hue because 1) it's in a photo 2) cloudy days have a higher amount of blue wavelength light.

I think it's quite a wonder how the very same orchid can appear so different in varying conditions.

Lovely shape and color! I'm partial to vanda. How to do grow it?

I have it in a hanging basket in my south-facing window. I spray the roots 2-3 times a day, maybe 4 times. You really can't overwater a hanging vanda, so they're easy to take care of in my opinion!
