V. Pat's Delight 'Purple Blue'
I bought this plant over the weekend at a local orchid sale. I got this extremely cheap, despite it being a very healthy older plant. The flowers are a bright blue with a hint of purple when spiking. Right now it's not flowering, but for the price I couldn't turn it down. Roots are massive, measuring 3.5 feet long.

I also noticed that there is some kind of basal keiki that appears to branch off from the main plant. It only has the one leaf though.

Here are the blooms. They are a lot deeper of a shade of purple than the photos suggest. Unfortunately cameras can't really capture the colors.

That keiki didn't develop.
Yes, it has 3.5 feet of roots, it's a pretty old plant.

Too bad the baby didn't develop.
You have a good buy.
But I hope the roots touching ground only happened in the pictorial.
Bacteria and other bad stuff can happen if the roots touches ground for a long period of time. They were meant to be hanging free in the air especially in Florida where the humidity in the atmosphere Vandas love.
