Default My vanda in glass lamp/ vase

This is my first vanda. After reading telipogon's vase set up, I've decided to give it a try.
Here it is:

I discovered that I can have a little water reservoir at the base of the lamp without getting the roots wet. So that is a bonus for humidity.

The fan is always on in my growing room. My fingers are crossed! I hope this works!
It was a real pain to get the basket to fit, I had to cut it down.
Some of the roots also cracked because I was bending it to the shape of the lamp. I hope it will be OK.

Ahhh... things we do to keep orchids!

It looks great, keep us post on how it does.
I'll join in with you soon but I gotta find me a bigger vase.

Yes, very interesting. You two are my last hopes when it comes to growing Vandas in NYC.

Hey Gloria, I didn't know this was a competition!
I had the lamp already and I just had to buy my first vanda.
Now I'm thinking... I need more Vandas..hehehe!
The truth is, I have been even more 'orchid crazy' since joing this board!
Please do share pics of your set up!

I hope there is enough air. I wonder if a collar on the bowl would catch air and force it into and out of the bowl?

Buds? Tell me you didn't join the board here to get help with an orchid problem? That's like going to Fantasy Island to find help for schizophrenia.

Charles: How did you know that I am orchid crazy! I am beyond cure!

I really have no idea what I am doing with that vanda . I mist it maybe once a day and leave it outside during daylight....I am just following telipogon's instructions. No real action at the moment. It has been a week..

Does anyone here get that nice feeling inside when you see or feed an orchid? I love it!

You got it! (And you've got it good...) But I don't want a cure! I'm happy in my addiction.
