Bud, I had no idea those flowershops in Chelsea sold species, when I went there I was a bit disappointed by the selection and prices.

The one I have has 2 growths. Wonder if it is a basal keiki or 2 different seedlings apparently joined.

I have orchids that I put on the roof in full sun in the summertime like a Laelia superbiens that takes as much light as I can give but this one seems to need to be shaded a bit. Yours looks great, so many roots. BAsal keiki it is great. I like clumps. It makes me hopeful that maybe I will be able to bloom in a while

That's fantastic! Nice growing!

I always enjoy seeing this species. The third picture is especially nice, IMO.

Thank You, Evan !

@Stefano...if you asked for the catalog they will get the species you want. They have several growers in their contact who can deliver them ... the orchids in the glass cases are the expensive ones...they are the ones used for weddings and parties...you dont want those kind..
you probably have a coerulea double plant in flask that never got separated and they grew together as twins...give your plant a year and a half(show us a picture)...it will bloom and give you a double show...

@wonderlen3000...I have four Euentha sanderiana (you call it Vanda sanderianum) the mother and the three basal keikis it gave me thru the years...and the form and characteristics is very different from coerulea...sanderiana is a genus of its own(characteristics of white or very light lavender or very light pink petals with the speckles of maroon on the lower part of the bloom and chocolate lip);
there is the wild form of coerulea and the other two variant forms(I suggest you do a research on this and look at the blooms); the blue vanda will definitely react to sanderiana strain and produce a totally different flower
*here are pictures of coerulea I found in the net and compare it to the picture of my Euentha sanderiana that is currently also in bloom

Bud - I kind of agree with you... the flower would not be so uniformly blue I think had it had some Euanthe sanderiana in it. Congratulations on that bloom as well! I just saw a great one at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. How does it compare for ease of bloom/culture to V. coerulea?

Stefano, the Euanthe sanderiana is my very first vandacious...it was given to me by a very good friend 5 yrs ago. This is the basis of all my vandacious cultures...I pattern all my vanda care with this...the mother sanderiana went on tour with me because I happen to work backstage Broadway Theaters...I put it in a big coat box hand carried and hangs on every bathroom window in every hotel I am in...now: I am a senior member of the union and I can choose my skedules...I dont go on tours anymore...I let the younger union memebers go...I stay in Manhattan as much as I can

You misread my wording. I said 'it's not pure Vanda coerulea. It has Vanda sandarina's (lets just call it Vanda in this case, coz that is majority of peoples know this is, even thou Euthane scientifically) blood in the plant. Probably a hybrid.

I know what sanderina looks like both in flower and vegetatively. I said it has sanderiana blood in the flower because the flower is round and uniform, and has the obvious sanderina spotting on the base of the petals/sepals.

Also the color is too dark for coerulea. Pure coerulea is more sky blue color and the flower is in more indigo shade. Also nomatter how line breeded V. coerulea is, the petal still reflex a little bit.

Also the plant is not V.coerulea growth habit. V. coerulea has a very short leaf, that is more or less horizontal and the leaf bracts are more visible and higher than other vanda.
