Default light for vanda

I have a vanda hanging on a stand indoors with a florecent light above it. Is this the best light.

Very pretty. I don't know anything about artificial light, did you just buy this? Vanda like bright light, mine are outside and receive two to three hours of direct sun. What watt bulb are you using? Answers will help someone answer you. Welcome to the Orchid Board, hope you'll enjoy being a member of a group of over 16,000.

Nice !. If it bloomed for you in that location, I would say that it has enough light.

Hi Carol ,Thank you for your reply. I have had it 3 years now. First saw one on a visit to monets garden in the kitchen there fell in love with it. I put it in the conservatory during summer, but in winter it is in the house. I turn the floresent light on for about 18 hours as it is dull here a lot of the time although we have snow at the moment. The bulb is 7 watt. And yes I do enjoy ochid board very much I just keep learning.
Regards Pam.

Thank you. I would add that it has about 4 stems of flowers a year.

Hi again, No not a new place I was just reading up on lighting and thought I would see what other members were using. It looks as if it is O.K with what I am providing.
Pam.
