The flower is about 3 cm wide and the plant is now 30cm tall.

That's lovely! I have one that looks great, plenty of gorgeous strong roots and beautiful leaves...and no spikes!

How are you growing yours? Help me, please

Cp977, as your description, your falcata grows well in your condition.
If yours is a seedling and never bloomed in the past, it may not still reach mature size.
As a matter of fact, it should bloom every year if it is a mature plant.
Naturally, the spikes occur in early spring when the temperatures rise in spring and therefore i think this is the reason that initiate the spikes.
Hence, treat it as other vandas and provide it a dry period in winter would do good for it.
