Default Vanda testacea

This one is blooming now. Native to the Himalayan regions of Asia (Burma and India). A unique thing about this plant is its ability to spike at EVERY joint where the leaf adnates with the main stem. It is quite floriferous, and has already bloomed 4 spikes this year (I selfed a few flowers and outcrossed with my Asco. christensonianum on two of the spikes), and this is the last one for a while. There is another spike starting in the next leaf up Well, here's the picture of the inflorescence and flowers...

Vanda testacea

Better picture of the flower...

If I don't look directly at the labellum, I see a stronger blue than if I did. Beautiful!!!!! thanks for the cool info too!

Very nice flower but a most unusual color for a parviflora. It appears in all the references to this species as being all yellow with only a very light purple if at all in the lip. Is this some unknown form of the species ???
