Default Vanda brunnea 'tessellata' X Kultana

This might just be my favorite vanda! I love the darkness of the color and the striping and the smell!
It is a regular bloomer and I am always happy when it does...

Wow, that is quite a cool colour. I'm not usually a fan of dark colours but it's really quite gorgeous.

I usually am not a fan of dark colors either, but this one called to me at the Lakeland Show and I couldn't put it down...Good thing I didn't, as there were 5 other people that wanted it!

It's a beautiful colored flower but I can't find V. brunnea 'tessellata'. Can you define the reference?

I'm confused here also. There is a V. brunnea, a V.tessellata and Vanda Kultana +++++ part of the name is missing. The net is playing up on me at the moment so I can't check to see if the cross, V brunnea x tessellata is named.

UPDATE............
V. brunnea x V. tessellata = V. Kultana Oriental Aroma.

This is possibly what you have.

Thanks Roy.

It will be interesting to learn how well-received this newly registered (2007) hybrid will be at judging centers.

Can't see why it should make any difference to be honest, both brunnea & tessellata are recognised stand alone species and are listed as such in the Kew List of Monocots.
As per here, some Judges & Judging decisions worry me as to their thinking. I wonder sometimes if those Judges can find their way home after the event.

As one of 'those' judges, it will be interesting to me to see if this cross is really better than either of its parent. Time will tell.

BTW, I have have no problem finding my way home after any event!
