Default Renanthera coccinea

Typical monopodial, creeping orchid, this species can reach 8-10 feet in height. I divided mine and now have two pieces of more or less 4 feet each. João de Loureiro, a Portuguese Jesuit Missionary who lived in China and Conchinchina (Vietnam) between the years of 1738 and 1780, described this species and also several other genera native of that part of the world.
My plants are grown in full sun, outside of the grh.

Thanks, JennS. Digital cameras today allow good pictures for Internet purposes, no matter what model you have. You just have to try several possibilities regarding light, background, camera settings and see what happens. Soon you will be able to get the best out of your camera!

WOWZA! Beautiful, Mauro. God I love those Renanthera. Wish they weren't so huge. I will just have to love yours from afar!

Mauro, I love the Renanthera - they are really eye catching. That middle photo of your's showing the plant, flowers, and root - is simply stunning!! It like a piece of sculpture!!

I have a Renanthera citrina - its quite small, and I hope it stays that way!! Not sure I have room for an 8-10 foot plant!!
