Question Question...

Hi. I have a V. Pat's Delight which is quite large and has a keiki growing. This plant is in a wooden basket with lots and lots of roots. My question is two-fold:

1. Should I just leave this keiki where it is or could it be draining on the "mother" plant?

2. The ends of some of the lower leaves are starting to look a little yellow. What could be causing this?

The plant is hanging in the sunniest part of our pool area under screening. It gets heavily watered and fed.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

It sounds like the loss of lower leaves is pretty normal. They do turn into "trees" with tall trunks as they mature.

Personally, I decide whether to leave keikies alone or not based upon where they are. If they are basal growths, I let 'em be. If they are higher in the plant structure and have lots of their own roots, I'll sometimes opt to separate them. It's totally up to you.
