This orchid comes from Thailand. It prefers a warm and sunny climate. In my garden it's doing well so far.

I live in Chaiyaphum Thailand. My Thai neighbors take little trips to the mountain near us and come home with some wild orchid plants. Many vandas. I am afraid to do this because I probably would get lost and I am afraid of snakes.

I have about 15 vandas that I order from different Thai sellers from all over Thailand. It has been so hot here (40C and above everyday) and a couple of the plants have damage due to the extreme sun and temps.

Your vanda is beautiful!

In recent years, some orchid nurseries in Taiwan have imported a large number of orchids from Thailand, the most common of which is the Vanda. The summer here is not so hot, and it is usually humid at night. Perhaps, this is better for Vanda orchids. But sometimes cold fronts in winter cause low temperatures, which can also cause damage to Vandas.
