Vanda top Leaves "bunching"
Default Vanda top Leaves "bunching"

Something is occurring to a couple of my older Vandas. The leaves at the top of the plant appear to be closing up or bunching together like they are being squeezed(See Photos). I live in SW Florida and they are hanging Areca Palm Trees. Arecas grow tall and lose fronds as they grow, so the orchids get more sun each year. That has never been a problem over the last 15-20 years that I have had these Vandas. I am stumped, cant find this occurring any where. Any ideas, suggestions, etc. are appreciated. Additionally, yes this particular Vanda had a rough winter. Our area was colder than normal, hitting low 40's a couple times(never a problem before) and extremely windy_25-40 mph gusts for days on end. Thanks for the assist

That is weird!
No clue what's going on but I'm interested and will monitor what you get here from others.

I actually have one doing that as well but not to that extent. It recently bloomed and it looked like it was coming straight out of the crown until I realized the top 3-4 leaves were all bunched together, just like yours. There was no sign of any type of infestation and otherwise it looks perfectly healthy.
