Default Neofinetia, Daisonishiki 大壯錦

Daejanggeum 大壯錦, aka Daisonishiki, Tosanka 桃山香 and Daishogun 大将軍

Originally bred in Korea, early exports of the first generations of this variety were renamed in Japan as Tosanka, while later exports of smaller seedlings were renamed Daishogun. In Korea, both are known by the original name Daejanggeum, which would be read in Japanese as Daisonishiki.

This one is a first generation that I managed to get just under a year ago.

Beautiful robust plant. For clarification, are second generation, selfings and sib crossings of the original, or remakes of the original cross perhaps with different individuals of the parent varieties?

As far as I understand, the subsequent generations are selfings and sibbings of the first generation, none are remakes.

Further clarification desired. When you refer to “later exports of smaller seedlings” are those “runts” of the first generation or second generation seedlings?

Pardon, I didn't mean that there were any runty offspring that were later exported, I meant smaller seedlings of subsequent generations that had only been recently deflasked, that haven't yet matured. In maturity they should all look the same.

OK, so they are young recently deflasked seedlings of the second generation.

Thank you.
