Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site as well as new to neofinetias. Infact, I haven't bought one yet, but searching and learning.

I see mention a couple of places of Barampung.com and buying from them. I'm quite interested but the only site I find is not in English and see nowhere to translate.

Can anyone help me? Thank you.

Just click on the American flag at the top of the page.

Important Note: if you want to order from them, you MUST read all of Hakumin's posts in his thread “A Few Neos Freshly Repotted”

However I find it strange that for your first Neos, you would not buy from American growers. Far less complicated and you avoid certain charges related to plant purchases outside the country.

Thank you very much.

Didn't I read it was pretty straightforward (and relatively inexpensive) to have plants shipped to the US? Thank you.

Being a rookie, I didn't know any better. Shipping costs appear to be much more than I expected or willing to pay at this point.

Thank you for your help.

Yes it's pretty straightforward because Barampung takes care of several of the legal aspects of the transaction including quarantine (inspection) certificate and Cities certificate (versus the nightmare many envision) and inexpensive if an extra $125 for shipping and the legal work doesn’t mean anything to you along with a wait for the plants that can exceed 3 weeks.

Be sure to read all of Hakumin's posts included in the aforemented thread. You MUST do that. Don't get me wrong, I am not telling you not to place an order with them nor telling you to do so.

It’s possible other overseas growers might not do all the paperwork (Cities and inspection and destruction of any insects) Barampung does resulting in serious issues regarding the legality of the transaction and possible very serious penalties to you, the individual placing the order.

Welcome to the world of Neofinetia growing. There is a lot to learn and all sorts of mistakes will be made along the way but it’s worth it. Just don't make any mistakes causing legal issues.

I'll stick with the US vendors. Thank you for your explanations and help. All are appreciated.

There are agricultural import/export laws that must be followed to prevent exotic pests from coming into the country. Processes to follow the laws can be expensive, cost for violating the laws way more expensive, and USDA can check packages. Do yourself a favor, buy from a US based company.

Hi!

Orchids limited (Jason Fischer) sells quite a few here:

Buy Orchids and Orchid Supplies Online | OrchidWeb

And New World Orchids: Miniature orchid species are our specialty - New World Orchids

Enjoy! I really love the fragrance of these. One of mine is in bloom now and I have been enjoying the fragrance.

Barampung is a good place to purchase rarer and more expensive varieties that are not readily available from the US based vendors.

If you're new with Neos however, or if you're not in the market for rare or unusual varieties, I HIGHLY encourage ordering from one of the US vendors instead.
