Default Source of the Red

You indicated that you suspected that Rhyncostylis was in the ancestry contributing to the red. I always thought that Ascocentrum supplied the red to Neofinetia hybrids as well as the controversial ones believed to be pure neofinetias by some and hybrids by others.

Is the reason why you suspect Rhyncostylis to be in the ancestory instead of Ascocentrum that the red expressed in your plant has a unique, stunning, graininess not shown in other Neofinetia and neofinetia hybrids where the red from ascocentum is smooth and not grainy?

Pretty much.

In addition to that though Neostylis pinky and other complex Rhynchostylis hybrids with neos are readily available with many strains to choose from. It would be easy enough for a breeder to use them in experimental crosses. Then again, it's all just conjecture.

Of course though, there is definitely some Ascocentrum in the background too. Definitely Ascocentrum miniatum or garayi, or perhaps both.

Default Still haven't seen a prettier neo hybrid

Three years on, and I have yet to see another neo hybrid that I like as well as Myeongwol. Truly spectacular.
