Default Neofinetia Kishu Ryokufu in bloom

At last, I rebloomed my first ever Neo! I think I can take credit for this one since I got it late november. Or at least partial credit for not killing it... I think I see spikes on 4 of my 6 other Neos as well. Since I seem successful, I'm getting more next week!

I love the green flowers of Kishu Ryokufu. I had it in high light earlier this year but the leaves were turning red/brown, so I moved it on a less exposed shelf and it seems to be happy.

The photos of the entire plant are marred by the ugly plastic pot...

Camille this is gorgeous, congratulations on the blooms! Are they, were they, wonderfully fragrant?

If this variety is similar to Hisui, another green flowered Neo, it is best to give it more shady conditions when the flowers are developing thereby enhancing the green. Below is a picture of my Neofinetia Hisui.

Yellow flowered neos on the other hand, like Kibana need stronger light to bring out the yellow which develops as the flower matures.

Yes, they were wonderfully fragrant, as were the 3 other Neos which flowered since (but didn't take photos, I've been much too tired in recent months).

Shoreguy, thank you for that information, I didn't know that! I'll have to write this somewhere, especially since I also have a Kibana now. Missed the blooms on that one though, I got it a few weeks ago and it had a dried spike. And of course, I'm eyeing some more Neos to purchase...

Picture taken in June 2016, not my first blooming of plant.

I've been growing neos for over 40 years and specializing in them for over 6 years.

Lovely! I have one of these, and it has bloomed the last couple of years, but looks like not this year - all my other Neos have buds or (1) blooming now ...
