Patty I look at Seed Engei on facebook, but I can't find a listing of the neo. Am I not looking in the right place?
I still see the list. Scroll down just a tiny bit and it states that the March list is out. It has a link to click on and that opens the pictures.

There are some gorgeous plants, mostly large ones. The Kaioumaru is amazing, I almost bought that one too! I do wish Satomi had more bean leaf plants but at least that keeps me from buying several each time she sends out her list.

Hope you can see them.

Oh! Satomi also sells on eBay, has some listed now. Most of the time the plant shown is the plant you are buying. If not, she states that in her listing.

Well guess I know who claimed this one before I could... I probably asked for this one from Satomi a day or 2 at most after the list came out LOL

What's your grow setup for your neo's Patty?

Hey, long time!

Sorry ubada, I learned quickly to claim any plant from Satomi’s list asap! I’ve missed out on a lot of them. This latest list had several I really liked, especially the Kaioumaru but I already have one. The Tenzan was another nice bean listed, I purchased a beautiful clump from her a few months ago. The email list I received was at 2am so I didn’t see it until the next day and just knew everything was gone. I felt lucky to have gotten this one.

I’ve now restricted myself to bean leaf or small needle leaf plants for space reasons. I grow my Neos indoors, too many variables outside. Squirrels, birds, bugs and weather. We have some awfully strong winds and my well water is freezing! Nope, growing orchids outdoors is not for me.

My plants are on a bakers rack in a north facing window with t5 ho lights. I grow them in moss mounds with hollow centers, most of them have upturned net pots inside. I water them when the moss is crunchy yet slightly damp inside the hole. I run a fan and use a humidifier. The humidifier has not been in use as much this winter as last and the Neos don’t seem to notice, maybe because I mist their moss mounds for humidity.

Most of my Neos are in plastic Neo pots, some are in small bonsai pots. The room they are grown in is our dining room, with French doors so I keep that room closed for the most part and being on the north side of our home, it stays cooler than the rest of the rooms on this level.

Sadly I’m running out of space so unless I find a bean leaf I simply can not pass up....

Good luck with your new Neos!

Yeah, I knew you liked mini's so your posts always come up when I do searches and I love mini's so.... not a surprise that you got that rakusui. Really amazing plant.

And case in point, I got a tenzan myself last month! did a search and lo and behold you had one, and as we both know not a lot of info on that one... but yours is lovely and mine is lovely- to me looks half needle/ half bean, and with the flowers being upturned I'm pretty excited, IF it blooms for me, lol. How's yours doing? growing well?

Thanks so much for your set up info. I'm really curious about just how well they grow indoors vs out, since I have the option compared to others. They grow year round for you? Flowering is good? Looking online they seem to do very well, and yours look really good, but most of your plants look good, could just be your touch. But whether the temp drop really makes the difference is the question. Shoreguy mentioned in a post, or someone, that when electrical/ heaters went off and things went down to 50 at night, the neos bloomed really well the following spring/summer. Anon is saying temp drop isn't necessary for them. What are your thoughts?

Growing inside would be better for me as there's too many variables as isout and I just want the neo's to be spotless looking so I can enjoy all their qualities.
