Default Two Nishide Mutations

Nishidemiyako is a variety of Neo well known for its various mutations. These are my two favorites.

Ginsekai - 銀世界

Ginsekai is usually a size smaller than the standard Nishidemiyako and is characterized by the straight standing leaves. There are large ones and small ones with the small ones like mine being more stable in its leaf shape.

Saikaku - 西鶴

Saikaku is one of the more prized nishide mutations. It has wide, thick leaves with an often wavy, and slightly twisted shape. Notably, it has a mutation of the tsuke (abscission line) which in Saikaku is a wave shape rather than the more normal crescent shape of a normal Nishidemiyako.

Hakumin these are both gorgeous plants and so different in appearance. Their variegation is very nice on both plants, do these require higher light?

Thanks for sharing these!

Average Neo light levels are just fine for these.

Thank you Hakumin. They certainly look healthy. The mutations only add to the fascination of these orchids. The first one pictured, Ginsekai, is very appealing to me and almost looks as if it has terete leaves. Really cool!
