Neofinetia reblooming
Default Neofinetia reblooming

My Neofinetia falcata Shutennou has bloomed in July and is blooming again!
I have learned at our last local orchid show that Shutennou is known to occasionally bloom twice the same year.
Is there other Neofinetia known to have such a nice predisposition? It would make a nice addition to my collection.

Shutennou has such beautiful color, I really enjoy mine. The fragrance is as enjoyable as the flowers. My plant is fairly large, it had several spikes and many flowers though it only bloomed once this season. I’ve only been growing Neofinetia for one year so I’m learning as I go.

From what I understand, many Neos may flower twice in a season if they are mature plants. I have a Oonami Seikai that first flowered in June, later in August and it finished flowering for the third time a week ago. I was very surprised and pleased!

Enjoy your flowers, it is going to be a long winter without them. I hope next season will be as wonderful as this year has been. Do you have other Neofinetia?

3 time, what a treat!
I've been growing orchids for maybe 25 years now (phal, paph, dendro and oncidium) but discovered the wonderful world of Neofinetia about 5 years ago.
My fist attempts were catastrophic, sending more plants to orchid heaven, but it seems that I now understand more how to grow them (though I'm certainly not an expert, and have still lot to learn!).
Like many of you, I am kind of compulsive when it comes to orchids. I have now 24 neofinetia (bean, tiger, varigated, spindle) and will be acquiring many more, I am sure.

I have only been growing orchids for 3 1/2 years, started with a Miltoniopsis as a gift. I mostly grow miniatures and I absolutely love the tiny ones. Last November I purchased my first Neofinetia and I’ve been unable to stop since. I love the bean leaf Neos and they are primarily what I look for.

The fragrance of these plants, especially with several flowering at the same time, is intoxicating! Evenings and early morning are so fragrant. As the Oonami Seikai was flowering this last time I couldn’t stop myself from picking it up and smelling it.
