Default Three new Neofinetia

I thought I had posted this a week ago, getting old and forgetful. These three Neos were purchased from Seed Engei and they are amazing plants.

I purchased Byakko thinking it would be a larger plant, it is very small and adorable! Beautiful variegation.

The Tengyokuhou is a bean leaf. Very nice clump and a very healthy plant.

The Hisui is different. It is a small plant with upright leaves, another nice addition. I wanted this plant for the green flowers.

Having Seed Engei's mailing list is great, I always find something I need. I've missed out on several I've wanted, they seem to sell very fast! The latest list I was able to purchase a Neo I've wanted for some time, so excited! I will share that one in another day or two when it arrives.

Here are the three new Neos.

Thank you Charles! How are your Neofinetia doing? I find these plants to be easy to grow and care for. I had many of mine flower for me this season, as a new grower this was truly exciting.

I hope you continue your collection as you seem to be successful in growing the Neos you've purchased. They really have been enjoyable for me and not much fussing needed.

I like the upright leaf habit on your Hisui. And that Byakko is really a flashy thing!

Oh those look great and super healthy!

Do you prefer all your neo's on a moss mound? I know it's traditional but just curious if it's for another reason.

Thank you! I like the leaf habit of the Hisui as well, simple and different than most others.

The Byakko while tiny is a real stunner. I had no idea how small it was when I ordered it and being a big fan of the bean leaf Neos, I found this Byakko just too cute.

The Tengyokuhou is a very nice bean leaf. I love them in their tiny clumps.

I have been raising them well enough I thought but just recently found out that I may have not been watering/feeding often enough and that I probably should have arranged for them to be outside more, I've been a little too cautious? thanks for asking.

Thank you! They are super healthy as always from Seed Engei.

As far as the moss mounds, yes all of my Neos are in these mounds. I am a fairly new grower of Neofinetia and I find every aspect of their culture fascinating. There is much to learn here on the forum, many old interesting threads.

Neofinetia are grown in bark, Leca and other media as well. Some like to grow them mounted and they grow quite well.
I was attracted to them for their form as well as their rich history so for me, this is the way I want to grow them. The moss mound has been a successful way to culture Neofinetia for years and it works for me. I have plenty of other orchids in bark or spagh or mounted. The Neos in their moss mounds in Neo pots sets them apart from all others.
