I went to my first orchid show yesterday and I couldn't turn down this orchid!! I haven't tried to grow anything other than phals and the vendor told me to just set it in my windowsill and keep roots watered and it will be fine. I was thinking about putting it in a air cone pot and setting it in my bathroom which gets great morning sunlight. Do i need to do anything else to it?

Great pickup!
I love this hybrid!

If you have great success, as in your phals bloom profusely under your care, then yes, go ahead and treat this little guy the same way.
Otherwise, it can take more light than phalaenopsis, but not necessary.
Morning sun is good, but if you mean just one or two hours in the early morning, probably not enough.

Just picked one up myself recently, hope it's as easy as everyone says it is... I've killed quite a few neofinetia type things, although I managed to have kept my one beautiful neofinetia (one of the parents of this hybrid) decently alive all these years, mounted no less... I had the other parent, rhynchostylis completely happy in a basket medialess growing in the shower of one of my old apartments that had an west facing window (it was watered when I was "watered" if that's any testament to my addiction)... and it bloomed quite a few times a year, so hoping this hybrid will bloom more than the 1/year neo parent...

all the new buds on mine (bought in spike) blasted already, oh well, it's be 20 minus degrees humidity here easily for a couple weeks so what could I hope for, probably was in a beautiful perfect greenhouse before I got it... and it's potted, not sure I'll keep it that way, but we'll see...

anyway, word has it it's a tried and true hybrid by now and truth be told I've been wanting it for a long time... wish us all luck!

Late post, but I grew mine in an air cone pot until it outgrew it. I now have it in a cedar vanda basket.

This was from 2014.

Cheers.
Jim
