Where to see Neofinetia Falcata in situ in Japan
Default Where to see Neofinetia Falcata in situ in Japan

Hello! I'm about to visit Japan right in the middle of July next month, and I'd love to see some blooming Neos in situ. I'm mostly going to be in western Honshu, from Hiroshima to Tokyo and everything in between. Anyone have any leads?

You may want to contact one or two of the Neo. growers. I know New World Orchids,Seed Engei, and maybe Orchid Web make trips to Japan to buy their stock, maybe they could help. Jean

I already did talk to Seed Engei--Satomi actually said she only knew one place near her that I would need a guide for. I speak a little Japanese, but probably not enough to have a conversation with a grower who doesn't speak English...

Contact Botany Boy. I believe he is an expat living there. He is a regular at Slippertalk as KyushuCalanthe.

Talk to Jason at Orchidweb. I believe he lived in Japan for a bit.

Tom (Botany Boy) is a good bet. He still lives in Japan and has many videos on youtube of local japanese flora. He just posted one not to long ago.
