Pink purple Neo

This is a first time flowering seedling of Shutenno & Koto cross.

I was looking forward to nearly white flower with a dark pink spur and a dark throat, but I got a dark pink purple flower with a short white spur and a white throat.

The flower is quite small as well. oh, well...

Initially, there was three buds, but one blasted, and two are open.

The same great coconut fragrance! Somehow this one is fragrant during the day time as well.
The internal switch must be broke.

You read it here first NYC but with these flowers and with such a healthy plant, you are going to fall under the Neofinetia spell. A year from now, you will have more than two or three! Just remember, I warned you!!!

It is cute. It's just that I had this picture of what it would be in my mind for a loooong time, and it turned out very different. That's how it is with seedlings. variability.

You don't have the classic white??

I have a gigantic sized white one, two hybrids involving the white one and a blue vanda, three other hybrids and two of this cross. The other one is of this same size, but somehow it has no signs of blooming and the plant looks to be on the decline somehow. oh, well...


I would love to have the green and the yellow ones eventually in the future as I make more room.

You're right.
I have two of this cross.
The other one is of the same size, but never flowered yet.
It does not look healthy, either.
So I should be happy with this one.

I already have eight neos/neo hybrids. lol
