Andrew, you might want to put those "pieces" back together, clumped in group in one pot. Neos seem to do better that way, at least in my case.

I report the same. They like company. And honestly, aren't most things better with friends?

Pilot - I found a Neofinetia falcata Koto x Shutenno that I couldn't pass up. I just started breeding Neos about a year ago, and have a bunch in flask. Every time I see one with red or pink flowers (in the genes, at least) I add it to the collection, as well as any other color forms I run across. I hope to work with this species for the next 40 years, provided I live that long.

Rangiku - I may put them back in one pot, if only to keep them from getting lonely. By the by, is your name a pun on Ran (orchid) and giku (geek)? If so, bravo! If not, gomen nasai!

Andrew

Hi Andrew, I chose the nick Rangiku as an online name back in 2005 - she is a character in the anime Bleach. This was well before my introduction to orchids in 2010.

It was quite a coincidence when I found out that Ran means either chrysthanamum or orchid. I've also heard that the character for Giku means crazy...

I am crazy for orchids. Just ask Pilot!

It is a lovely plant, as you have photographed it. It would probably be acceptable to call it Neofinetia. I have several seedlings that are NOID but having no particular name like Shutenno.

Andrew, this is a shot in the dark but would SEKIREI ring a bell? If you're wondering why I ask, it's because you traded me one of your little orphans so I've been researching a bit.
Best.
