Old Faithful
Default Old Faithful

I call this neo 'Old Faithful' because it faithfully blooms every year and, even more, faithfully begins to open flowers the day after an orchid meeting and drops the last one the day before the next. Every year, both of these things can be entirely depended upon.
I love this one, though, because it requires little care and the night fragrance is wonderful. I do wonder what would happen if I was a little more devoted, though. So, here it is.....

It was very nice. I bring the night bloomers inside at night to enjoy them and then put them out in the morning.
I will have to count the growths one of these days and let you know. Right now, it is pouring out there.

Hi Leafmite, you can slow the bud development and time for meetings by keeping it more in the dark or deep shade for 2-3 days at a time, then 2-3 days in sun. I have done this and it works well only after buds are about 20-30 mm

Thank you. I find it rather amusing that every year it misses going to the meeting. I figure that eventually, the timing will be right so I do not worry too much.
I went and counted the fans. It has five fully mature ones from years past and a new one that is almost mature. It has never produced more than one new fan a year and I bought it as a single fan. I do see that the little growths that I thought were next year's blooms are starting to grow so I am not certain what is happening there. ????
