Default Pics of my new Neo acquisitions & pots made for them...Neo. Hanagoromo & Soubiryu

I was looking at Leslie's Facebook page and saw pics of his Neofinetia "Hanagoromo". It is a stunner if you like golden leaves & I do. He said everyone should own one and it is not expensive. I found one at Orchids Limited and it came yesterday. Leslie gave some great advise it is just lovely and OL always sends me their best (like they don't do that for everyone ) Here are pics of it and the pot I'd made for it when I ordered it. I wanted a pretty lady like the I think of the Neo.

This is the Neo. "Soubiryu" I won last week on eBay I surely hope to be posting pics this summer of it in bloom. Satomi also sends me nice plants The pot is messy but I like it. Also noticed that Leslie used the same spikes I use that was a surprise because I liked that fact that they weren't intrusive but wished that that were longer.

Very nice Ginger! Both plants look really good but even better in their special pots.

Very neat and correctly potted in the traditional samurai method.
I like your pots, fun and festive.
The golden leaves of the Hangagoromo also show some tiger stripes. Very interesting trait.
The Soubiryu is happy and healthy forming new fans and robust roots.

Great job Ginger! I love the way you customized each plant with its own pot! Do you make the actual neo pots or painted over the Japanese clay pots?

I am happy you follwed my advice on the Hanagoromo. It is a highly rewardable plant that you will enjoy for many many years to come! This is one of the most artful plant that you can 'design' on the patterns of the leaves by merely sun exposure and rotation. Your plant looks pretty robust and many growths! My Hanagoromo from FB is also from SE! So in no time our plants will look very similar!

You mentioned the Sorbiryu uses the same clear plastic sticks as mine...yes I do prefer them but as you mention they are too short at times... so what I use instead are long thin wooden skewers sticks and cut them according to needs (usually halfway for large plants).

Would love to see updated pics of your two plants soon! Hint hint ruby roots of the hanagoromo

Thanks Leslie To answer your question regarding the pots they are all handmade from polymer clay. The technique was developed by Pilot (Ryan) here on the orchid board. Check out the threads Neo pots are nice but expensive part 1&2. Many of us were all involved in the project.

Here is a pic of the red roots taken last month.....so pretty.

Just search Neo pots are nice..... & the first thread comes up. The second thread is close.

No I don't make the pots for special orders. However, as soon as I get over some medical stuff I will make one for you.

Beautiful pots and plants, Ginger! You are truly and artist. What kind of paint do you use?

I have some black ceramic pots that I have been wanting to decorate, but my hubby thought the car model paint would be better for durability, water resistance and adhesion to the pot. I have a design but I just need to execute it.
