Hey all,

Not sure if we all want to do this but I thought it might be fun to showcase each person's collection of plants. Also, adding future replies to this one thread for your individual collection puts a nice timeline on the forum for everyone to see and enjoy.

I'll list mine out soon but for now, just a snap shot of the collection:

There are people on here with much bigger collections, so maybe you already have such a thing listed somewhere but I thought us newer folks could start here easily enough.

Another option would be to post to threads specific to the neo, for instance, all Fugakus go on a common Fugaku thread... Thoughts?

My collection has been nearly 100% transitioned to aquamat now... Did the rest last night and most of my neos had decent roots, none had really bad roots but one or two had few and so they will get special attention.

Me too! I've had my Senzai in this media for a few weeks now and what I'm able to do that I really like with this media is I can flush this stuff easily and really drench it and yet it won't water log. The Senzai is growing new roots tips on old roots into the media already. So far so good.

Sweet collection of healthy Neos Ryan they look happy in their new media and I am sure you are happy since you strongly dislike sphag.

I hope these plants like it-- no real reason they shouldn't. I love it! You can top-dress this stuff really easily with long strand moss and suddenly, it looks like a traditional mound-- and I'm very picky when it comes to a visual presentation and I can fool even myself I know this of course because I grabbed a neo I thought I hadn't repotted but it turns out it was one of the aquamat plants I had top dressed and had to redo it because I yanked the moss off. I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being absent minded nor sleep deprived.

I know you want us to show our grow space and our own collection but I want to share with you another grow space. When I entered this space I felt like the proverbial "kid in a candy shop".

Now that I posted these pictures, my collection seems lilliputian.

A few update. Fugaku is what I would consider fully acclimated to sh culture now. A stout tug yields no results in removing it from the media, which tells me it has plenty of roots in the reservoir. I've moved it over to my automatic misting bench so it's getting a bit less light. I think it's getting a little too much.

And here is my Amami clump.

It's grown a lot this year.

I tried SH for my Neos... They didn't take to it. In the culture I give them, I think they like the sphagnum. Need to get around to repotting them all soon though. Loved your aquamat mounds!!! So cool~ Gonna Google it!

Wow~ Great, Ryan!
They look so cute as is now, but just imagine when they come into flower! Hypnotizing!!!

What is the golden yellow leafed one in the center of the collection? It really stands out and I am very much fond of it!

Also, this aquamat thing, it looks like you just wrap it around the root with nothing in the center other than roots themselves??
Do roots grow into this media and you just add more layers around over time?

I would love to try it.
