I have acquired these publications:
1. American Orchid Society Bulletin: March 1985. “Japanese Orchids – Neofinetia falcata and Ponerorchis Graminifolia” written by Kichigoro Suzuki. I found this long out of print bulletin from amazon.
2. Orchid Digest, July, August, September 2004, Vol. 68(3). “Fuuran and Fuukiran—Demystifying the Origin of Neofinetia falcata: Part 1” written by Thomas Joseph Mulhollan, M.D. Note: I could not find Part 2. Dr. Mulhollan has a website that seems to be dormant:
www.neofinetia.com. This is one of the most comprehensive descriptions of Neofinetia. I bought this digest from an eBay vendor but I have regularly emailed the membership chair to buy one directly from the publishers of Orchid Digest.
3. Orchid Digest, April, May, June 2006, Vol 70 (2). “Fuukiran, the Living Antique” written by Jason Fischer. Jason’s family owns Orchids Limited, Plymouth, Minnesota. They have a large inventory of Neofinetia. I bought this publication directly from Orchid Digest. This was the last one in their inventory.
4. Orchids, The Bulletin of the American Orchid Society, August 2012, Vol. 81 (8). “Neofinetia falcata and its Hybrids, Cultivating an Asian Beauty in Its Many Forms” written by Peter T. Lin. He owns his own company called Diamond Orchids, out of California. He should not be confused with Peter Lin, who specializes in Phalaenopsis and has his own company called “Big Leaf Orchids” out of Texas. Neofinetia Peter, is the founder of the Fukiran Society of America. In the past few years, this society has sponsored Neofinetia judging events. Here is a link to the Fukiran Society website:
http://fukiransoa.weebly.com/ This publication came directly from American Orchid Society.
5. Japanese Orchids: Fukiran Catalog. Author: Shigeru Kasahara. This is a large format magazine sized publication. It is very colorful and organized by leaf type. Excellent source of specific cultivars. This publication is only available upon request via an email to Seed Engei. (It takes a long time to acquire, but well worth the wait!)
6. There are numerous Japanese Neofinetia books in print and are available from New World Orchids. These books, selected by Glenn Lehr, contain the English name of many pictured Neofinetia plants and also translations in alphabetical order. Visit newworldorchids.com.
If you have another document not listed here, please post any information about that publication. With the exception of #6, all of the listed publications are printed in English. There may be publications printed in other languages but since I can only read and speak English, for now, perhaps other languages can create a thread listing those publications.
