Sorry, I just now saw this.

While Boulder and surrounding areas are partially destroyed with many houses underwater, my neighborhood is in good shape with minimal water damage. The city is virtually shut down on order of the government, so that relief supplies can get to those that need them. For now our water is still on and clean, we have power and I spent the day doting on my plants inside and watching movies with hubby.

Nearby towns of Lyons and Estes Park are in far worse shape, with many structures, highways and homes washed away.

Ryan lives in Parker, which is not in a flood zone, so he should be Ok. I hope he checks in soon!

Please pray for those who are not so fortunate, or who have lost family, friends, animals and homes. I must go to work tomorrow and I just hope it will be a normal day, with normal (sick normal) patients.

As Joy said, I'm in Parker, which received steady, moderate rain during the period of heavy rain that Boulder, Lyons, Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park got. Our place soaked up the rain, had some minor flooding, but that was it. Honestly, we benefited greatly from this rain-- sadly our northwestern friends did not...at all. Major highways are closed and like Joy said, whole municipalities are pretty much closed.

We did have some water damage to our house but it's nothing that can't be fixed.

If you're in Colorado and trying to hike, or bike or move around-- you're nuts. There is no going anywhere, especially the mountains. More rain tonight and tomorrow.

Sadly, this place has endured a horrible drought for quite some time. This is not a good way to break that drought.

Glad to hear that both of you escaped major problems from the floods. Sending good thoughts to all those affected. As a Louisiana resident I can sympathize.

You'll appreciate this Ryan: on Thursday I saw 2 fellas kayaking in the swollen Boulder creek. I hope they made it out alive!
