I have enjoyed getting lots of great information from this tread. I have yet to buy my first neofinetia but have made the choice to be from the bean leaf neofinetia. We are selling our home next summer to live and travel full time in our camper and some bean leaf will fit with the terrarium. Thanks everyone for the posts and pictures. They have been very helpful. Have a Merry Christmas!

I have been aware of Neofinetia for a long time, and thought them cute, but this past year I've been lingering on them more and more...I just discovered that I can grow Vandaceous orchids using exclusively reverse osmosis water and now I can't get enough... I knew I was in trouble when a Neofinetia "Taiga" Fukiran appeared for all the world to me as a ballet dancer caught mid-leap; $40 was too much to pay for a plant sight-unseen but I know I'll be on guard for arresting images in the future.

Taiga is certainly a highly appealing plant. If the price tag daunts you, there are less expensive Neofinetia you can acquire. I hope you find one or two to start with—as you have gathered from this long thread, Neos are highly addictive! Good luck.
