2013 Blooms
I thought there was a thread for people to post pics of their 2013 new blooms but couldn't find anything. So feel free to post your pics. I'll kick it off with Akabana.

Oh it's not big deal-- a flower is a flower and appreciated no less. Equistris is such a versatile plant. I've seen SO many varieties of this species its hard to imagine it can even be called that any more!!!!

There is/was a Neo. x equestris cross according to wikipedia (and then a back-cross to Neo.), but I doubt you could easily find one for sale. A remake would be a cool thing to try.
Phalanetia Anna Bettencourt — Neof. falcata × Phalaenopsis Veitchiana, Bettencourt 1988
Phalanetia Hoshizukiyo — Phalanetia Irene × Neof. falcata, T.Morie 2002
Phalanetia Irene — Neof. falcata × Phalaenopsis equestris, Y.Sagawa 1975
Phalanetia Koibotaru — Neof. falcata × Phalaenopsis schilleriana, T.Morie 2000
Phalanetia Pacifica — Neof. falcata × Phalaenopsis Chieftain, W.K.Nakamoto 1964
Neofinetia falcata - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
EDIT: I found a nearly 8 year old thread on the Big Leaf forum regarding Phalanetia Irene, but the photo no longer appears in the post. I bumped that thread in hopes that the OP will repost the photo. Really no other references to it to be found anywhere on the intarwebs.

Interesting! Maybe sense, we can cross Phals with vandas and the like, and technically neos are vandas now.

I believe Dr. McDaniel spoke about making Neo x equestris at last year's IPA symposium. Let me see if I can dig up my notes on that. His website is still under development. Orchid Classics

Cool! The original poster of the Phalanetia Irene thread on the Big Leaf board says he would have to do some digging to find the original picture that (dis)appeared in the thread there, but nearly 8 years later he still has the plant and says if I had inquired last month he could have taken a new picture of it in bloom.
It's driving me crazy not being able to find a picture of this.
