Modest neofinetia collection

The first plant is 'Yodonomatsu,' second one is 'Suikaden,' and the third is 'Senzai.' Not a big collection, but they all seem to be happy, so I can't complain.

Looking good! Looks like you really like the bean leaf types. Neat blooms on the first one, the spur is very short.

I hope OB members with less expensive neos or smaller neo collections DO NOT feel intimidated about posting photos here.

I don't care if the plant has 3 leaves, 2 roots and 1 flower. It doesn't matter if your plant costs more than some people's house and car combined. Or if you dug up a clearance neo from the trash. Doesn't matter if it's mounded in moss or growing in a glass bowl with LECA.

Every neo is cool and deserves to be seen and admired. I hope the other members with big neo collections feel the same way. Neo season has begun so show us whatcha got!

I totally agree with Tracy. My first Neo was a basic wild type that a fellow member was kind enough to give to me to get me started. I was proud as could be to have a Neo. No matter what type it was. In its own way it's still one of my favourites.

Thanks, everyone. And yes, I agree with the sentiment that everyone should share his or her photos, regardless of the type of neofinetia they have. I just like the bean-leaf varieties (even though I think that the "standard" type has better-looking blooms than most bean-leaf types). The only ones I've yet to grow fond of are the splotchy-looking leaves (not sure of the correct term: ocean-wave? tiger-stripe? something else?); to me they just don't look healthy. I really would like to find one of the larger-growing plants (Amani type?) to join my other plants one of these days. Thank you again for your kind comments.

I have a small collection (for now) too. I have 4 neos and 2 are the same kind.

Well, they're actually not classically potted, in spite of their appearance. They're not really directly planted in NZ sphagnum. The pots are about 2/3 filled with styrofoam packing peanuts, with a thin layer of mostly pumice stone and coconut husk beneath the plants. The moss only covers the tops of the roots (base of the plant) to help retain moisture. I'm probably of the minority opinion, but I don't find the traditional Japanese technique of placing a mound of moss in a pot and perching a plant on top to be all that attractive.
