Neo growth progession pics
These are some photos for the folks who are just starting to get into Neos. You may have read or been told that they don't grow as fast compared to other orchids. Here are a few of mine that I've had for 3 years. Depending on the variety and probably the genetics of each individual plant, some just grow better and faster than others no matter what you do to them. So if you have a "whiney" one that always seems to have problems, it might not be your fault. If you've used appropriate culture and it still whines, just blame your plant. You may feel like you used part of your grocery money to get 6 leaves and 3 roots on that neo but just give it a little TLC and time. It will reward you with a pretty cool plant in just a few years.

Yay, Tracy, you are back.
I will take 'Kinkounishiki', please. 
I have one of those 'Setsuzan', which I bought from OL, I think it was last year. It is one 'happy' plant.

Very nice pictures Tracy. Your Setsuzan gives me something to look forward to with my single growth plant.
I love your Kinkounishiki. The variegation is beautiful!

Sorry, Naoki-san. No Kinkounishiki for you but you can have all my Paphs if you want to make the drive to MN. Seriously, I need to find them a paph loving home before they start to die. I will only be keeping my Japanese minis and a few phrags.

Hopefully, your Setsuzan will behave better than mine. I had some trouble in the beginning because it did not like the bright light.

Shoujyou puts out more and more blooms each year. A very well behaved one. I've had this one since Winter of '08.

Hi Anders hope all is well with you. I saw your Sekei on flickr and it's very pretty. Congrats on the bloom. My Houmeiden has not bloomed and I don't think it will ever bloom. It has a very small leaf span even though it has several growths. However, the white variegation has gotten nicer compared to when I first got it. |
