Thanks,
No it is not in a tank, but I spray it every day, and the lava rock naturally wicks up a lot of water from the saucer, creating a moist environment for the plants. It is 10 inches below 4 x 24Watts T5 HO
I have usually 60 % humidity in the orchid growing area.

It's beautiful! So well done-- honestly, it's a piece of art. If this were at a show I bet it would get rave reviews.

Hey guys-- you can buy larger rocks on ebay however I don't know if they're collected with ecological consideration-- not that they aren't, it just has no info if its someone removing rocks from protected areas or not.

Thanks for the inquiry,
The plant is doing well, but not as good as I was hoping. Either it is a very slow growing variety, or the mount is not optimum for its growth.

In had some trouble keeping the rock moist enough, even with the wicking from the saucer, especially in summer. Too bad this is just the season for Neofinetia to need a lot of moisture! So I decided to place the whole mount, saucer and rock, inside my orchid terrarium with misting system.

It is doing much better now, and starting to grow faster I think. I will have to take a picture one day, but it will have to wait three weeks because I am going way tomorrow.

By the way the variety is not Seibotan, I realize later that the shape of leaves and flower did not fit, so I contacted the seller and he confirmed it is not, he mixed them up with Ootakamaru, which this one should be.
