Default new Neofinetia potting attempt 'Japanese' way

Just got these 2 Neo and tried for the first time the 'moss mound' way. What do you think?

First 2 pictures are Ounami Saikai (short leaves)
then Benisuzume

Thank you Marissa and Becca.
I am not too happy with the mount for Benisuzume (looks too flat and the plant is a bit too low in the moss), but I am quite proud of the Ounami Seikai mount

Thumbs up

Oh, they are grand!! I have a couple of new neos that are in need of repotting. I want to do the mounds, but never have tried them before. Did you get your sphagnum from RepotMe or is that just ordinary sphag? Long fiber? Did you use a bottle or anything to form the mound or did you just do it freeform??

If this is your first try, there's hope for me and mine

Thanks Mspatt, I did not use special sphagnum, got it at the garden store nearby, but I seems to be good enough. I could pick some good long fibers in the pile! I just soaked a big batch of sphagnum in a bucket, and chose the best looking fibers
I used a small tube a bit less than 1 inch diameter for the mound and it worked well, I will see if it stay hollow with time...

Good mounting to you! and to you neb too.

I am glad that you were able to make the mound so well. I just hope mine will look that great
