Summer Stars

I'm attempting to do a re-make of the classic hybrid, Neosedirea Summer Stars. I have started this thread in order to document my progress. shown below is the pod parent for my first attempt, Neofinetia falcata Shutenno. the pollen parent is a large Sedirea, which sometimes has branched spikes with double spurred flowers.

I've never seen Summer Stars, but the parents are enough to make me want one of those hybrids...I really hope you are successful and that you will consider selling the seedlings after you do the flask

Beautiful, I love how the stem is purple and then fades to white for the flowers!

for those who haven't seen a Neosedirea before, try this link. They're quite a bit larger than a normal neo. I'm hoping the Shutenno will give it some color. I'm also planning on trying other crosses. It'll be interesting to see what the results are. I'm guessing it'll be 9 months before it's ready to be flasked, and about 3 years before I have any for sale.
