Default Neos for starter collection

Tami in previous thread asked what to look for when buying Neos and someone posted a list of 5 good news every lover should have. That being said, does any OB member here sell, trade, auction or give away (not expecting this to be an option) to those of us just starting out with these beautiful orchids that want to start a collection????? I've found only two sources and had one individual offered me divisions when he repotted. I have to wait to see if that materializes. Any show I have been to (and that's not many) the vendors did not have any for sale. Any help in getting started would help. Can send me a private e-mail if one does not want to post on this thread. Domo arigato!

Thanks Dorothy. They are definately in the running. I understand Dr. Glen Lehr is great to work with and can provide good options for both plants and pots.

While the rarer and also larger plants are expensive, if you buy the more common Neos in a small size, the price is fairly decent! There are quite a few nice ones in the $25-35 range, that make a good starting point. I'm just a poor student, but I already have 3 neos from Glenn! And getting more soon...
The plants are fairly small, they look bigger in the photos. For example, my 4 growth Shuttenu (a great starter Neo) is only about 3 inches tall (excluding pot and moss mound) and 5-6 inches wide. That's not very big!

Thank you Camille thats good to know!! I thought they were going to be out of the question, 3 inches I can do and $25 -$35 is a reasonable price, maybe one day I can get one to try.

Hey Camille - Glad to hear you have had good luck with yours and wanting to increase your collection. I just recently fell in love with these beauties and want to start some of my own. Still gathering all the info I can.

Did you check with gmaculata or Marissa (OB members)? They were both offering neos on the OB classifieds as well as on ebay earlier.

I saw a couple during lunch on ebay for less than $20 including shipping.

I also heard scuttlebutt that ebay has an on-line 10% discount coupon if you and the seller both use paypal and you haven't bought anything in awhile.

Cheers.
Jim

Thanks Tracey - yes to both. One not answered the other when they repot they may have some divisions. Will let me know.

Jim - I think that is a starter bid. I did bid on some that way but the both I bid on went for over $75. I will keep trying. Thanks.
